Lettera di invito al progetto “Reverse Engineering del Bullshit Curatoriale”
Gentile Partecipante,
Il presente workshop è un esperimento che analizza la relazione tra testo curatoriale e produzione visiva. L’obiettivo non è creare un’opera “corretta”, ma testare in che misura un testo curatoriale autonomo sia in grado di generare una forma visiva.
Riceverà esclusivamente un testo curatoriale. Non saranno fornite immagini, riferimenti o informazioni contestuali. Il compito consiste nel creare un’opera d’arte basata unicamente sul testo ricevuto. Il medium è libero: pittura, disegno, installazione, immagine digitale, visual generato con AI, modello 3D o qualsiasi altra forma espressiva.
Il testo può essere utilizzato:
- come fonte di ispirazione,
- come struttura concettuale,
- come prompt diretto (incluso l’uso di generatori di immagini AI),
- oppure come contro-posizione critica.
L’obiettivo non è l’illustrazione, ma la traduzione. La questione centrale è comprendere quale struttura visiva il testo implichi: quale forma, quale spazialità, quale intensità o quale uso della materia suggerisca.
Importante:
- Non confrontarsi con altri partecipanti durante il processo.
- Non cercare l’origine del testo.
- Non presumere l’esistenza di un’“opera originale”.
Dopo la presentazione dei lavori seguirà un’analisi collettiva, durante la quale verranno esaminati:
- il grado di somiglianza visiva tra le opere,
- la convergenza o divergenza delle interpretazioni,
- le differenze tra interpretazioni umane e generate dall’AI.
L’esperimento non valuta la qualità artistica, ma il potenziale generativo del testo. La Sua opera costituisce anche un dato di ricerca.
Il progetto intende esplorare in che misura il linguaggio curatoriale sia descrittivo, direttivo o piuttosto una superficie di proiezione.
La invitiamo a lavorare con libertà e consapevolezza critica.

Dear Participant,
This workshop is an experimental study examining the relationship between curatorial text and visual production. The objective is not to create a “correct” artwork, but to test to what extent an autonomous curatorial text is capable of generating visual form.
You will receive only a curatorial text. No images, references, or contextual background will be provided. Your task is to create an artwork based solely on the given text. The medium is unrestricted: painting, drawing, installation, digital image, AI-generated visual, 3D model, or any other format.
The text may be used:
- as inspiration,
- as a conceptual framework,
- as a direct prompt (including the use of AI image generators),
- or even as a critical counterpoint.
The aim is not illustration, but translation. The central question is what kind of visual structure the text implies: what form, what spatial logic, what intensity, or what materiality it suggests.
Important:
- Do not consult with other participants during the process.
- Do not search for the origin of the text.
- Do not assume that an “original” artwork exists.
After the presentation of the works, a collective analysis will follow, examining:
- the degree of visual similarity,
- the convergence or divergence of interpretative directions,
- and the differences between human and AI-based interpretations.
The experiment does not evaluate artistic performance, but the generative potential of the text. Your artwork also functions as a research data point.
The project seeks to explore to what extent curatorial language is descriptive, directive, or a projection surface.
Please work freely, yet reflectively.
